Hi, I'd just like to say hello to the community. I've inherited a silver engine model Beamish 250 from my late brother among other bikes. I've had a quick look round the bike in the workshop and it appears to be in reasonably complete, original, if 'stood for years' condition. However lifting the barrel the big end has partially heat seized and will require a rebuild with con rod kit. My plan is to do a strip down, re-build in road trim and road register over the next few months. Then to get a few miles on her round the local lanes. I'll no doubt be on the forum asking for advice over the coming months. Best wishes, Ray.

I've been a bit busy with other things but the Beamish is slowly progressing.
Surprisingly a lot of parts are still serviceable, it had obviously had a rebuild in the not too distant past, it's had a front wheel rim with stainless spokes, good brake pads, bearings, cables, chain + sprockets.
Next step is the engine rebuild - I've a new con-rod kit ready.
Is there anything within the motor I should pay particular attention to, weak points etc?
Once I'm happy with the motor it'll be the cosmetics - it'll need new mudguards and side panels. The tank did have the original yellow under MANY coats of later paint.
